I love this time of year and it well and truly is the season to eat, drink and be merry when you hear that the BBC Good Food Show Winter is coming round again at Birmingham's NEC.
It's a fun, festive and food-tastic day out and one where you'll need a wheely trolley to take home your haul of delicious treats and tipples. I enjoyed having a day at the show last year, and the year before too with my Mother-in-Law, and cannot wait to go again (#gifted tickets - follow me on Instagram for updates on my Stories when I do go).
Here's all the information you need to know before you go...
The BBC Good Food Show Winter will be
kicking off the most wonderful time of the year at Birmingham’s NEC with four
food filled days packed with the nation’s favourite chefs, perfect Christmas
gifts and festive fun.
Starting from Thursday 28th
November to Sunday 1st December 2019, culinary legends James Martin, Rick
Stein and Mary Berry will be cooking live in the Big Kitchen – and with over
450 independent and artisan producers, visitors will find everything from sweet
treats, and seasonal ingredients to unique stocking fillers and latest kitchen kit.
Rick Stein is one of several new faces
added to the Winter Show line up this year, alongside foodie hero Ainsley
Harriott, Masterchef duo Billy and Jack and 2018 Great British Bake Off winner
Rahul Mandal. Michelin masters Tom Kerridge and Michel Roux Jr, family
favourite Nadiya Hussain and the entertaining Hairy Bikers will also be cooking
live on stage and sharing recipe ideas and tips to make Christmas extra tasty.
New for 2019, guests will be able to
get party ready with demos at the brand-new QVC Kitchen. With top tips and hacks for mastering Christmas
dinner, inspiration for perfecting the ultimate seasonal desserts and
party food and making the most of Christmas day leftovers from curries to stir-fries
and the ultimate Boxing Day sandwich, there's something for everyone.
Alongside the Big Kitchen sessions, the
BBC Good Food Stage has a full schedule of exclusive interviews with the
headline chefs and experts, giving guests the chance to get up close and
personal with their favourites. Guests can pick up the latest cook book at the
pop-up bookshop and meet their culinary heroes in book signing sessions.
Visitors to the Show will be able to
get hands-on and test their skills in the BBC Good Food Workshop led by the
masters, full of festive sessions including Christmas cake toppers, gingerbread
decorations, Christmas seasoning kits, gin making and a specially curated kid’s
class.
For those looking to find the ultimate
Christmas present, the Ludlow Producer’s Market will be returning to the Show,
with hundreds of other food and drink options available, from brownies and beer
to popcorn and paella. With seasonal produce and not-on-the-high-street gifts,
there will be something to fill every stocking this Christmas.
Having watched some of the best chefs
demonstrate their skills throughout the day, visitors will have the chance to
dine from a menu inspired by Michel Roux Jr., Tom Kerridge and Emily Roux, as
the Lexus Lunch Club returns to the Winter Show.
Tom
Kerridge, who will be appearing at the show on Thursday 28th
November, said: “With
tonnes of inspirations and great shopping, it’s the perfect festive day out.
When you think Christmas, you think about incredible food, which is why the BBC
Good Food Show Winter at the NEC should be marked on all food lovers’
calendars.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the
year, there’s no better way to get ready for Christmas than at the BBC Good
Food Show Winter. If you’re coming along, you’re in for a treat!”
