Now in its seventh year, the National
Pet Show returns
to Birmingham’s NEC on 2nd and 3rd November 2019. Bigger, better and furrier than ever, the
UK’s ultimate day out for animal lovers of all ages is back! Not just pups and pussycats, there’ll be reptiles
to rabbits, ponies to parrots, goldfish to guinea pigs – and much more.
It’s fun for all the family
with ongoing animal demonstrations and displays which will have visitors
clapping, cheering and even joining in. There
are enthralling talks from experts and celebrities and all humans great and
small can meet and learn about a myriad of species and breeds.
Autumnwatch’s Michaela
Strachan and TV vet Rory Cowlam lead family teams against each other in Family
Fur Tunes, a hilarious animal knowledge challenge while The SuperVet, AKA
Professor Noel Fitzpatrick will give a talk for children from Noel’s Ark. Britain’s Got Talent’s Lucy Heath will show
off her training miracles, not just with dogs, but cats this time too!
The Guinness World Records
team will bring along the UK’s tallest dog, the most agile agility pooch and
other extraordinary critters. A further jaw-dropping parade of pets will
attempt to secure their own new records.
The Activity Arena sees stunt
animals of stage and screen while School4Dogs returns with top trainers and
their charges.
The show’s remarkable Dogs
with Jobs feature includes police dogs, search and rescue dogs and super-chilled
therapy dogs, while the Canine Catwalk’s compere will introduce the most
popular ones to the rarest breeds – over 70 will be at the show!
This year The National Pet
Show once again plays host to The
International Cat Show, where the country’s finest blue blooded pedigrees battle
it out to become the best of breed.
The Small
Furries Village stars hamsters, chinchillas, rats and more. The enchanting, ‘must-see’ Secret Rabbit
Garden is bunny heaven, while The Animal Village is home to the bigger beasties
such as alpacas, donkeys and Shetland ponies.
Finally, there’s a magical bird section showing endearing budgies to
chickens to parrots with awesome vocabularies.
