Drayton Manor's Summer Sensation season starts soon

Like most Midland families I'm sure, we have visited Drayton Manor several times since having Ethan, with Thomas Land obviously being a real highlight for Ethan, and there's so much going on over summer, I wanted to share it with you in case you are planning ahead for the summer holidays.

I'd like to take Ethan again to this theme park as it has been a while since we've been (read my top tips for visiting Drayton Manor), but we always have a good time. Being pregnant means that the rides are out for me, but there's plenty of other things to enjoy on a day out here, plus in mid-Augist, there's due to be a food and craft fair which sounds really interesting and right up my street.

Here's what the team has told me about their summer holiday activities:

Be ready for smiles this summer as Drayton Manor Park plans its six weeks of Summer Sensation campaign from Wednesday 25th July to Monday 3rd September at the Staffordshire-based attraction.

In addition to the adrenaline-pumping thrill rides, family-friendly rides and the 15-acre zoo, the attraction is organising extra events for visitors to enjoy. Make sure that your little ones don’t miss out on a special meet and greet with CatBoy and Owlette, characters from popular children’s TV show, PJ Masks. These fan favourites, guaranteed to bring a smile to your child’s face, will be having fun at the park on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th August in the heart of the park near the Carousel.

For the grown-ups, there will be a scrumptious Food & Craft Festival on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August, consisting of over 30 stands to tantalise the taste buds with locally made treats and delights, including stands run by The Crab Shack, Patty Freaks and Gyro Guys to name a few plus some amazing craft stalls as well.

But don’t worry if you don’t manage to make it to these events as throughout the summer there’s plenty at Drayton Manor Park to keep everyone happy. Both the young and young at heart will be entertained in Europe’s only Thomas Land™, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and is home to more than 25 rides and attractions, such as the Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster, Jeremy Jets’ Flying Academy, and brand new in 2017, James and The Red Balloon.

Thrill seekers can scream to their hearts’ content as they experience a host of adrenaline-pumping rides such as the head-turning gyro swing Maelstrom, the 54-metre drop tower Apocalypse and Shockwave, one of only two stand-up coasters in Europe. Visitors looking for a quick refresh from the occasional ‘heat wave’ we have been experiencing to date can enjoy the white-knuckle Stormforce 10 water ride!

If you’re planning to extend your visit into a staycation at the onsite, four-star Drayton Manor Hotel, secure your evening’s stay in a standard family room with a deposit of just £1 and help spread the cost this summer with the park’s exclusive Stay & Play offer. Be quick though, as terms and conditions apply and these rooms sell out fast!

For families with younger children, the magical experience of Thomas Land doesn’t have to end in the park as Drayton Manor Hotel has 15 incredible Thomas & Friends themed rooms. Each child staying in a themed room also receives a complimentary Thomas & Friends goodie bag during their stay. For those without little ones, the hotel offers a well-deserved break in relaxing rooms with free Wi-Fi and an optional full English breakfast too.
