Family fun at Town Hall Birmingham - The Scarecrow's Wedding and The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Last weekend, we went to see The Scarecrow's Wedding at Town Hall Birmingham, the latest book to stage adaptations of one of Julia Donaldson's classic stories. Ethan's Nanny bought him the book a couple of years' ago when we went to the National Forest Adventure Farm and it's a fun story all about two scarecrows who decide to get married and how all the farm animals help them get ready for their big day.

We've seen Stick Man and What the Ladybird Heard, plus We're Going On A Bear Hunt, at Town Hall Birmingham and have loved them all, with The Scarecrows Wedding being the same clever interpretation of the book, bringing it to life with enthusiastic actors and a clever set that comes to life and helps the story to unfold.

If you haven't been to a show like this before, I thoroughly recommend it as a fun family day out. The children love seeing their favourite stories come to life before their eyes and with the songs and colourful sets, it's a memorable experience that will have your little ones smiling, laughing and singing along.

Town Hall Symphony Hall has a bumper schedule of family, comedy and music events all year round and one of the upcoming shows great for families is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Ethan saw a poster for this at the weekend and got very excited so I can't wait to take him along and to see how they bring this classic children's story to the stage.

There's two performances on Saturday 27th May and tickets are just £12.50, so well worth checking out over the late May Bank Holiday weekend.
