12 reviews before Christmas: 8) Jump Nation Birmingham

For some, the Christmas break can be a rather long period of time to fill - particularly with hyperactive kids in tow, buzzing from filling their faces with chocolate from their selection boxes! When the big day has passed, the presents have been unwrapped and cabin fever starts to kick in, why not go out for some family fun? I was recently contacted by the lovely team at Jump Nation trampoline parks and, at some point between Christmas and New Year, we will be going along to the Birmingham venue to jump, jump, jump around and burn off some energy (and possibly a few calories too, to get a head start on all those healthy intentions the New Year always inspires!).

Jump Nation Birmingham has 218 wall-to-wall trampolines (the UK's biggest trampoline arenas) and a range of activities and classes for both kids and big kids alike, including their combination of basketball and trampolining called Dunk Nation, which includes a mini version in the under 6 area with soft play toys and a foam pit.  

It's been years and years since I last when trampolining but it's been a bit of a trend that's swept across the country in recent times and I have to say it looks like a lot of fun. Ethan certainly uses his and our bed as a trampoline in the mornings so spending some time in the under 6 area, where he can jump and bounce to his heart's content (in complete safety), sounds like a much better alternative and a great way for us to get active and enjoy a day out together as a family.

A bit like going bowling, you book by choosing how long you want to jump for and which area you want to go for, with tickets priced around £6.85 for under 6's, £8.95 for 6-15 year olds and adults for one hour of jumping, then an extra £3 - £5 for each additional hour. Don't forget the anti-slip socks, which are £1.50 to book.

24th Dec: 10 – 5pm (last jump at 4pm)
25th Dec: CLOSED
26th Dec: 10 – 6pm (last jump at 5pm)
27th - 30th Dec: Normal opening times
31st Dec: 10 – 6pm (last jump at 5pm)
1st Jan: 10 – 6pm (last jump at 5pm)
2nd Jan: Normal opening times resume
