To become... style: folk dress from Tu

I have a thing for dresses. They are without doubt the item I have the most of in my wardrobe. I love how versatile they are; dress them up with heels, a clutch and some punchy lipstick, or down with some plain pumps or converse, ankle boots and a leather jacket or sling over a chunky knit to layer up for the cooler weather.

You may have seen that folk influenced details are a key trend for autumn and I have found the most perfect dress.

It won't be everyone's cup of tea but it was love at first sight for me.

Long sleeves. Midi length. Retro print and colour palette. Bold embroidery detail. And tassels.

Did I mention that this dress is from Tu at Sainsbury's?? I wanted to work in fashion at one time (if you do it’s worth checking out fashion executive recruitment).

Priced at just £22, this baby had to be mine. It looks great with thick tights and platform heels. Or with ankle boots, and oversized jumper. Or with a fur gilet - this one, in particular, which has a beautiful ombre red colour that matches my hair, also from Tu. Come spring, it'll be great teamed with a denim jacket.

What do you think? Hippy heaven or a bit too much? Do you like the folk influences on the high street at the moment?

    1. Thank you Hayley! You're so lovely. I've never bought any clothes from Tu just as we don't have one we usually go to. As soon as I saw this I knew it was something special and just £22 (plus 25% off at the time) I couldn't say no. Love it!! X
