I still have quite a collection of classic stories, stacked on shelves in Ethan's nursery, from Grimm's fairytale anthologies to the Chronicles of Narnia and Roald Dahl.
There's also a certain rabbit in our library. He has a blue tailored jacket and a satchel and he goes on all kinds of adventures.
I don't think there's many people of our generation that don't have a soft spot for the tales of Beatrix Potter. As well as having a complete collection of her stories of Peter Rabbit and friends bought from the shop at Lake Windermere, my Dad has been collecting the small white books of each story for Ethan, and we have quite a number now.
As well as the books, I remember the animated TV series too from when I was young. Sure, Peter Rabbit has a new CBeebies show, in all its modern animation glory and with a catchy theme tune, but we now have the original series on DVD and little man has come to love this too.
He loves Peter Rabbit - to him, any rabbit he sees is Peter - and as soon as he saw the new DVD set, he was desperate for me to put them on. And straight away, he was transfixed.
I love the fact that at his age, everything is new and exciting, even if it's actually old and sometimes, I think older is better. It's been nice to share with him something from my childhood too - they call them classics for a reason!
