I don't believe you should have to pay a lot to get a lot from life and feel that a lot of beauty brands that brandish big price tags and beautiful packaging are simply taking advantage of us, particularly when high street alternatives contain the same ingredients or offer the same solutions.
When it comes to make up or beauty, I tend to stick to the under £10 rule, unless there's an offer on. I wear make up every day and I'm an impulse buyer, be it a new lipstick or a fab face mask. Because I'm a beauty addict, I simply can't afford to have expensive tastes and I'm fickle with products too so if I spend less than £10 on any new item, I can experiment more.
Today's #treatyourselftuesday beauty review is of a slightly more expensive product than I would usually buy but I had heard good things about the range and I had some Boots points to spend.
I chose the Rose Hydrate Miracle Makeover Facial Oil from Super Facialist by Una Brennan following a trip to the spa (a treat from the husband!). I loved the facial I was given and was amazed how an oil could be so cleansing when I have combinational skin.
I'd been reading about the benefits of rose, Calendula and avocado oils and this product is packed full of them all. This facial oil claims to be a 'potent blend of vitamins that assist in eliminating impurities from the skin whilst encouraging natural cell regeneration' and is perfect for sensitive skin too thanks to Calendula (a wonder ingredient, as I've discovered through working with Weleda UK).
I use this when I need to give my skin a thorough deep clean or when I need to add some nourishment. I've been living out of a suitcase the past couple of weeks due to our holiday and a weekend from friends and always find any skin routine just goes out the window. Even if you take everything with you, it's just not as easy to maintain, so I've been left with oily skin but a dry nose. With the colder weather coming in, I need to take better care of my skin and hydration is key despite my oil slick of a T-zone.
The Miracle Makeover Facial Oil smells sweet, warms quickly in your hands and feels very luxurious as you rub it into your skin. It says to be generous and to use slow, circular massage movements to work it into your pores for a deep cleanse. All you need to do then is wipe your skin clean with a warm, dampened sponge or flannel then follow up with your usual cleansing routine.
I really worked this into my skin and it was an enjoyable experience. When I wiped the oil away, my oily patches were gone whilst my dry patches were now smooth. My face looked clean, it felt soft and I didn't really want to cleanse any further - my skin looked hydrated and primed ready for make up.
I was really pleased with how effective this was from just one use and it's certainly going to be a weekly treat from now on.
You can buy this facial oil from Boots for £14.99 and if your savvy, wait for a points event or a special offer across beauty so you can pick it up for a bit less.
* Note: This is not a PR post - I bought this facial oil myself and wanted to share it with you as I was really pleased with the results.
I've heard such good things about this brand! Need to try it out! x
ReplyDeleteMe too, that's why I gave this a go. Definitely take a look when there's a special offer on or you have some Boots points to spend :)
